Have you ever forgotten a significant person’s birthday? I did, I managed to miss my daughter’s boyfriend’s birthday recently. What to do? dash out and buy one? no, no, no. Just had to make an extra special card to say how sorry I was. This gave me a chance to try out one of the 3Die-mensions Tattered Lace dies I bought on special offer, the racing car. My primary reason to buy was for the great sentiment dies that were included, which I have used a lot. But, the actual 3D dies had, till now, not been used. I made the car first of all. This is not for the feint hearted, the whole of the car is cut in one peculiar shaped piece. The instructions are not the clearest or most comprehensive. Assembly took lots of careful thought, gently teasing the curved areas into shape without creasing, and not to mention, avoiding tearing 2 ridiculously fragile thin sections which take some stress during construction (I managed to guess this would be a problem and reinforced them before getting too far on in the construction). My next problem, once I’d completed the car, was how to make it into a card so it would display nicely. I modified the principles used in an easel card in the end. Finally. obviously, it was not going to fit into any envelope without being squashed so I used a box instead. And here’s the finished result. Let me know what you think.
