My Family are used to me making special cards as commissions or for family members. When one of them has a birthday, it’s always a challenge to come up with something new and special for them. In this case it was my youngest daughter’s birthday we were celebrating. I used the opportunity to use some some of the many fabulous new dies I’ve added to my collection recently but so far haven’t used. Namely the Spellbinders Adjustable Shadowbox Frame Die – S4-981, the Spellbinders Indie Line Shapeabilities Dies Layered Monarch dies and the Altenew Peony Dream die set. I am a huge fan of layering dies and love the effects that can be created with them. Regular visitors will have seen the shadow box cards (which is a style I love) that I’ve made previously. Up till now, the dies to create these are expensive and only create one size of shadow box frame ( I have a new Octagon shaped one By Cardmaking Magic that I’ve yet to use too) . I’m blown away by the concept of the new adjustable ones from Spellbinders. I only have the 1″ wide version at the moment but am delighted that I’ll be able to make 1″ wide frames of any size I wish. Anyway, enough waffling, here it is, hope you like it.
